Before you buy
What hosting do I need?
PHP 8.2 or newer with the mysqli, json, curl, openssl, sodium, zip and gd extensions, MariaDB 10.2.7+ (recommended) or MySQL 8.0.13+, Apache, LiteSpeed or nginx, SSL, and one cron line. Shared hosting with cPanel works. See Server requirements.
Do I need Composer, Node.js or the command line?
No. All libraries come in the zip, and the setup wizard runs in your browser.
Can I install it in a subfolder?
No. Install it at the root of a domain or subdomain, such as draws.example.com. Each website, including each subdomain, takes one place on your licence. See Licences and domains.
Does it include auctions, mystery boxes or a shop?
No. RaffKing Standard is built around prize draws. Auctions, mystery boxes, the shop and earn games are add-ons you can buy from the add-on store in your admin and switch on later. See Add-ons and themes.
Can I run draws where nobody pays money?
That's a separate product, RaffKing Rewards: members earn coins from games, a daily bonus and offers, and spend them on tickets. No payment gateways are included. RaffKing Standard takes real payments.
Is the mobile app included?
No. It's a paid add-on that gives you the app's source, set up for your store. You build it in Android Studio and Xcode and publish it under your own developer accounts. See The mobile app.
Running the store
How do customers pay for tickets?
They top up their wallet with a payment method you've switched on, then buy tickets from the wallet. Tickets are priced in coins, and you set what a coin costs. See Wallet, coins and payouts.
Which payment gateways can I use?
Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, PayU, Authorize.Net, Checkout.com, Mollie, GoCardless, Cashfree and Instamojo are included. Over 20 more gateways are available as add-ons, and you can add your own manual methods such as bank transfer. See Payment gateways.
How do customers know a draw is fair?
With verified draws on, as they are for a new store, each draw is committed to a secret seed when you make it and drawn with public randomness from drand after it closes. Anyone can recalculate the result on the draw's Verify page. See Verified draws.
Can customers withdraw their coins?
Not with RaffKing Standard alone: coins are spent in your store. The Withdrawals add-on lets customers cash out to payout methods you set, after your review.
Why aren't my draws being drawn?
The scheduled task isn't running. Add the cron line and check Cron Logs. See Scheduled tasks.
Can I have staff with limited access?
With the Roles add-on. Without it, only the main Administrator can use the admin. See Staff, roles and fraud.
Can I offer the store in my customers' languages?
The storefront and admin come in 23 languages, including Arabic and Urdu right to left. Your own draws and pages can be translated automatically. See Languages and translation.
How do I make the storefront faster?
Switch on the Cache plugin, included. It serves saved pages to visitors who aren't signed in, and never caches signed-in visitors, checkout or the admin. Settings and a self-test are under Performance Cache.
Updates and changes
How do I update?
From the admin, in one click: Appearance Software update for the core, and Check for Updates on Plugins and Themes. Updates are signed and checked first. See Updates and add-ons.
Will an update overwrite my changes?
Your settings, content and uploads are kept. Edits you make to core files, or inside a plugin or theme folder, are overwritten when that part updates. Put code changes in a plugin of your own and design changes in a theme of your own.
Where are my settings and logs kept?
After install, the store moves its private files (settings, licence, backups and logs) to a prizex_private folder outside your web root when it can. Security Logs Server check shows where.
Can I build on it?
Yes. Plugins add admin pages, storefront pages, API endpoints, scheduled jobs and payment gateways, and hooks let you change what the store does without editing its files. The admin's built-in guide lists every hook on your store. See also REST API and mobile app.
