The storefront and admin come in 21 languages, two of them right to left. Choose which ones your customers see, and have your own listings and pages translated automatically.

Arabic and Urdu show right to left. Customers pick their language from the switcher on the storefront.

Choose the languages you offer

Settings Languages:

  • Offered: tick the languages customers can pick.
  • Order: move languages up and down; your switchers list them in this order.
  • Default: the language a new visitor sees.

When you change the default, you choose whether customers keep the language they saved (recommended) or every account moves to the new default. Moving can't be undone, though customers can pick again afterwards.

  • A customer who saved a language you stop offering sees your default instead. Their choice is kept, so offering it again brings it back.
  • Text a language has no translation for shows in English, whatever your default.
  • The admin panel keeps every language for your staff, whichever ones you offer customers.

Translate your own content

The interface is already translated. Your own listings, products and pages are what you write, and Settings Auto translations can translate them for you with the WowCodes Translation API. It's off until you turn it on.

  1. Turn it on

Pick the languages to translate into and the kinds of content, or everything. Only content from plugins that are switched on is listed.

  2. Let it run

New and changed content is translated in the background, every minute, by the scheduled task. Until a text is translated, customers see the English. To translate everything at once instead of as customers open it, use Translate everything now.

  3. Review and edit

Each text shows its status. Edit any translation by hand: your edits are kept, even if you delete the machine translations later. A check tells you when numbers, links or formatting differ from the English.

Allowance

The page shows a free monthly allowance of characters and when it renews. When it runs out, translation pauses and carries on by itself once there are characters again. The Administrator can top up with WowCodes Store credit, after linking the store to a WowCodes account.

Brand names and model codes

Choose whether names like your store, brands and models stay exactly as you wrote them in every language, or are written the way each language usually writes them. Model codes such as GT500 can stay in Latin letters and digits.

Work with a translator

Export the translations you're looking at as a CSV, edit it elsewhere or hand it to a translator, then import it back.

Numbers and money

Under Settings Auto translations, in its settings:

  • Digits: languages with their own digits, such as Arabic, can show them. Order numbers, codes, phone numbers and email addresses stay in 0-9 so customers can copy them.
  • Amount format: how money is written on the storefront and in emails, with presets for the US and UK, India (lakh grouping), much of Europe, a space separator, and Switzerland. You also choose where the currency symbol goes and whether to hide .00 on whole amounts.

The name of your wallet unit, such as Coins or Points, can be set per language in Settings Rewards.
