Themes and homepage

Change how your storefront looks without changing what it does. Pick a theme, preview it in light and dark, schedule a seasonal one, and arrange the homepage section by section.

Themes included

ThemeLook
ClassicA simple, modern look with white cards and soft shadows.
EditorialA clean, magazine-style look with warm paper tones. A new store starts with it.
Lock-UpA self-storage yard on sale day, made for auction stores: each live lot stands behind a numbered roller door with its countdown and top bid. Choose the doors' finish and a note for shut doors in Extensions Yard.

Over 100 more themes, including Bazaar, Salesroom and seasonal ones, are in the add-on store inside your admin.

Change your theme

Appearance Themes shows every installed theme with real screenshots. From there you can:

  • switch the gallery between light and dark to compare,
  • switch a theme on,
  • open a theme's own settings page, if it has one,
  • upload a theme as a .zip, or delete a theme that isn't in use,
  • press Check for Updates to see new themes your licence includes and updates for the ones you have.

Schedule a seasonal theme

Pick a theme and a time window, and it switches on by itself at the start and back at the end. A scheduled task checks every minute, so the scheduled task must be running.

Arrange the homepage

Appearance Homepage is one list of what the homepage shows, top to bottom. Add, hide and reorder sections; the big banner at the top (the hero) is one row in that list, so you can move it too.

Sections you can add

  • Banner carousel
  • Custom block
  • Winners ticker
  • Live, picked or upcoming auctions
  • Shop and picked products

Sections from a plugin appear only while that plugin is switched on.

Leave a text field empty to use the theme's own wording, which is translated into every language. Anything you type shows as typed in every language.

Appearance Menus: the header, footer, account and mobile menus. They're shared by every theme, so switching theme keeps them. Promotional banners are under Marketing Banners and can be scheduled ahead.

Logos and the favicon are in Settings Branding.

Customising a theme

A theme is a folder in assets/themes/<slug>/ with a manifest.php (name, version, fonts, colours), a theme.css, an optional functions.php, and a components/ folder for any storefront parts it redraws. A file there replaces the default one of the same name.

Edits inside a theme folder are overwritten

Updating a theme replaces its whole folder. Keep your changes in a theme of your own, in its own folder with its own slug, rather than editing an included theme.
