Referrals, insights and marketing

Bring members in with referrals and social sign-in, keep them with email and push campaigns, and see what works in Insights, which runs entirely on your own server.

Referrals

Every member gets a referral link to share and a network page showing who they referred and what they earned.

  • The referrer earns a wallet bonus when someone they referred signs up.
  • Set the amounts in Settings Rewards. A new store starts with a sign-up bonus of 15 coins, a referral bonus of 10 coins for the person who referred them, and 25 coins for signing up with someone's code.
  • Engagement & Rewards Commission take-backs deals with rewards that have to be taken back.

More than one level

The Multi-Level Referral Tiers plugin, included, unlocks tiers 2 and beyond with no fixed cap. In Engagement & Rewards Referral Tiers, add tiers one at a time and give each its own sign-up rate. A tier you retire keeps its rate, so you can bring it back.

Social sign-in

Add "Sign in with Google", "Sign in with Facebook" and "Sign in with Apple" buttons to your login and register pages. Each has a settings panel on the Plugins page.

ProviderWhat you enterAddress to give the provider
GoogleClient ID, Client secrethttps://your-domain/sso-login/google.php
FacebookApp ID, App secret, Graph API versionhttps://your-domain/sso-login/facebook.php
AppleServices ID, Team ID, Key ID, private key (.p8)https://your-domain/sso-login/apple.php

The panel shows the exact address to copy, built from the site address in Settings General. You create the keys in the Google Cloud console, Meta for Developers or your Apple Developer account.

New members become regular store accounts straight away. Returning members are matched to their existing account by verified email, and banned members are stopped at sign-in as usual.

Email and push campaigns

Everything is under Marketing Notifications:

  • Campaigns: an email, a push notification or both, to everyone, a saved group, or members you pick. Save a draft, schedule it, or send now.
  • Templates: the automatic emails (receipts, password resets, prize notices) and your campaign templates.
  • User Groups: saved audiences, built from rules or picked by hand.
  • Send Log shows what went out; Newsletter lists who signed up and who left.

Browser push needs no app. Set it up in Settings Push notifications, where the keys are made for you in two steps. Visitors opt in on the storefront.

Before your first campaign

Nothing is emailed until your mail server is set in Settings Email (SMTP). Marketing email also stays blocked until your postal address is filled in under Settings Sign-up & compliance.

Banners and the homepage

Marketing Banners: promotional banners you can schedule ahead. The homepage itself, including its big banner at the top, is arranged under Appearance Homepage; see Themes and homepage.

How winners' names show to visitors is set in Settings Winner names: full name, initials, or a made-up name that stays the same for each person.

Insights

An analytics dashboard that runs on your own server. Its data stays on your server, unless you add the AI assistant add-on and use its Explain this week button or weekly summary, which send weekly totals to an AI provider. The wizard installs it from your licence. Its pages are under Insights:

  • Overview
  • Revenue & wallet
  • Games & shop
  • Users & growth
  • Risk & signals
  • A nightly summary keeps every page fast, and recounts the last 7 days so late payments and refunds land on the right day.
  • On a coins-only store it reports in coins and leaves out the real-money figures.
  • It flags big spenders, members going quiet, and unusual spikes or drops.
  • A sign-up to repeat-spend funnel and retention by sign-up month.
  • Export any range to CSV, open any day to see what made it up, and get email alerts or a daily summary if you like.

Blog

Posts with categories, tags and a featured image, under Blog. Each post moves from draft to scheduled to published, has its own SEO title, description and share image, and matches your storefront theme. Reader comments wait for your approval unless you switch on auto-approve in Blog Settings.

Search engines

Settings Pages & Policies holds your Terms, Privacy, Refund & cancellation and Cookie pages, and the SEO title and description search engines show for each page.

Live chat

The Tawk.to Live Chat plugin adds a chat to your Support page, opened by its Start Chat button. Enter your Tawk.to Property ID and Widget ID in its panel on the Plugins page; you'll find both in your Tawk.to dashboard. Where your cookie banner asks for consent, the chat waits for it.
